Nichifu Insulated Terminals
These incredible terminals are really the best I've found for DIY crimping. They're made in Japan and are high quality with an extra metal sheath from end to end of both crimped sections. This provides a true strain relief as well as an excellent crimp on the wire and insulation. The female spade terminal is the slotted type which really holds tightly when it's connected. All Nichifu terminals are made from thick tin plated bronze alloy, not some cheap stamped pot metal or aluminum.

Here below you can see the variety of wires that these terminals are able to crimp. All of these tested impossible to pull the wire out of the terminals. Crimped with the Pressmaster ECP100.
Add some shrink tube and plug into it's matching male terminal and you have a fully protected and strain relieved junction with super hold and high conductivity. These terminal sheaths match up for a waterproof seal.
Do not use those very cheap single jaw crimpers for this type of terminal. The terminal will twist and the crimper will bite through the insulated shield. Always use a decent two jaw insulated terminal crimper. Do it right, get a decent crimper, these terminals, and some of my Sumitube, and your work will look like this!
