Eclipse Rumble Pack (original version)

I picked up one of these used and cheap from a guy on an online motorcycle forum. I'm really pleased the way it fits the VStrom. The large plastic coated hooks will not damage anything and hold the bag securely to the rear carrier, leaving the seat free for a passenger or more cargo on a trip.

I intend to use this bag for light shopping in town and for short day trips to the mountains. In combination with my Cortech Super Mini tankbag I'll have plenty of room for what I need to carry, without a lot of weight or hassles attaching the bag.

The bag simply clips on with the large hooks, and inside you tighten up the bungee cord which holds the hooks tight. I tightened mine up to maximum to get the bag to fit. It's really easy to put on and take off.

The only thing I don't like about the bag is the zippers only close the sides, the rear is closed only by a strip of velcro. There is a waterproof cover included. The bag expends to hold a full faced helmet or even more of your shopping. At least the velcro allows very easy and quick access to the inside without zipping anything.

The bag has a plastic side panel which keeps it's shape even when empty. There is a bottom plastic panel which covers the bungee system. A small zippered pouch is attached to the top and there's a handle built into the rear of the bag. As you can see the bag has a reflective stripe across the back and a bit of the sides.

In this photos I have a rainsuit and a pair of heated gloves in the bag. It will hold plenty more without expansion.

Here's a closeup showing the way the hooks are attached.

And here's the overall look on the bike, giving a good idea of the size of the bag.
