Tokai Trail July 4/2008

Friday afternoon the sun came out and I packed up the day's orders and headed for the hills north of town. As soon as i started into the hills I got into some heavy fog. It got cold and even started raining, although fortunately not too hard, nor too long.

Way up in the hills, looking for 'the observatory' I found this short uphill 'path'. I parked the bike and walked up. It was very foggy up here.

Here's a closeup of the path up hill to the overlook. I didn't see any car or bike tracks and didn't intend to start some new ones. That's tricky slippery stuff even on level ground.

A view down the 'main road' to show the fog. Notice also the little river running down the road for a ways. Lots of these today after a two day rain. The rain had brought down a lot of rock and mud slides too and it was careful going in places.

Here's the overlook. Not much of a view today. I leaned over and could hear crows cawing down there... somewhere.

Here's one of many tricky places where the road is 'bad'.

Coming back towards town now, the new superhighway in the fog looked neat.

I love this little valley just north of town. The little windy road runs right beside the houses and farms making for a very interesting view of the local life.

I got 'artsy' today taking some different photos with the VStrom in them. I hope you enjoyed today's photos.
