Installation Notes:

• An adapted bracket kit is needed to install the SH847 rectifier.

• The SH847 is much more efficient than the OEM Harley rectifier. The voltage will be between 0.1 and 0.2v higher for any given rpm/load.
  This puts less load on the stator and improves the overall charging system. Increasing the battery voltage by 0.2v for either lead acid or lithium
  batteries will improve battery life especially for those who commute or use many electrical accessories.

• Please note the OEM Harley rectifier is smaller than the SH847, so if installing with the OEM standard bash plate, about 2.5 inches need to be removed from the left side of the bash plate in the rectifier area. For Harley OEM optional bash plate, which covers the rectifier, there is no need for any modifications to the bash plate. This is also the case with most aftermarket bash plates, that cover the rectifier ( rather than have a cutout for the rectifier to protrude ).

  
  
  Pan America with SH847 installed. The output voltage peaks at 14.4v, but is typically 0.2v above the output of the OEM rectifier. At idle this rectifier could keep 14.2v on a discharged battery ( battery was 11.9v when off the bike ) whereas the OEM rectifier could only manage 13.8v into the discharged battery, at idle.

It is much more efficient than the OEM rectifier  and is a solid upgrade to the charging system. All versions of motorcycle lithium batteries are designed to work with 14.4v as are lead acid motorcycle batteries, so you can use any battery type with these rectifiers. Adapted cables or connectors are also required. This kit is for those who want to do their own adapted cables. It allows the SH847 to be mounted in place of the OEM Harley rectifier. Please note modification to standard bash plate is required.

Rectifier With Adapter Cables & Bracket

All versions of motorcycle lithium batteries are designed to work with 14.4v as are lead acid motorcycle batteries, so you can use any battery type with these rectifiers.This kit is designed for those who want to keep the stock rectifier connectors and install the SH847 rectifier. Please note modification to standard bash plate is required. Adapter cable length has change due to feedback from customers. Longer cables will be supplied with this kit.

Adapter Cables Only

These adapter cables allow a FH0020AA or SH857 rectifier to be connected to the Pan American stock rectifier connectors. To all this with the stock basj plate, the cables need to be tucked behind the adapter bracket. See image Fig 10. below.

Bracket Only

Bracket that allows an SH847 rectifier to mount in place of the OEM Harley rectifier. Adapter cables or connectors required, but not included. Does include rectifier to bracket bolts and nuts ( not shown in the image ). The two provided spacers fit under the plate, between the OEM mount points and the adapter plate.

PC-8R 40A Accessory Fuse Box

Accessory fuse box for the Pan America. 8 outputs with 6 switched and 2 direct to battery. Plug and play kit with no changes to the bikes wiring. The battery connection is a 50A link and can be used with other PowerLinlk accessories for jump starting or adding high power horn kits. Another nice feature is that by disconnecting the PowerLink cable, you can disconnect all accessories at one point. The kit comes with spare fuses and virtually everything you need to do the instllation.You can read more about PowerLink here. The PC-8R is usually mounted inside the storage area under the seat. Some customer have mounted the PC-8R under the rear storage area panel between the panel and the rear light area. The switching lead connects inline with the number plate light connectors.

Power Link Cable

For customers who just want a high power connection to the battery, this provides a charge point to connect battery charger and also with the correct accessory,
allow jump starting of the bike. Much easier than removing bash plates and battery covers. The connector sites under the riders seat, when installed.

Tail Light Splitter

Pan America 2021-2025 Tail light splitter. Gives you one output for brake light, tail light and a ground. Because of connector terminal and wire size recommend to keep loads to 2A or less.
Can be used for extra LED tail lights OR as a trigger in for a relay.
 

Number Plate Light Splitter

Number Plate Light Splitter. Can be used as a trigger source for relays etc. Or to power an extra LED light. Recommend to keep current to 2A or less on this connection.

Tail Light Connector

Tail light connectors. terminals and seals.Set. The terminals are quite small and these are one of the harder connectors to work with ( we work with connectors every day and these
are just plain difficult ). The wires have to be routed though retainer ( non removable ) and then though the seal (remove the seal), then the terminals installed and manipulated into the
connectors, then seals pushed back into place, then retainers pushed back into place.
