Fedex Japan notified us that from January 2026, they will be increasing shipping costs by around 5%.
This will add approximately $1.1 to an average order.
These price increases seem the norm these days.
12 Feb 2026 Update
Well 5% was a misrepresentation…. It is more like 14%. But worse Fedex bumped up its tariff process fee from $7 per order to $15 per order ( more than doubled ). A host of other fees have been increased also. This effectively increases our shipping cost by about 50%. So a 0.5Kg package that might be $24 in shipping to the USA is now $27.36 +$15 +$any storage fee they decide to tack on +$Tariff ( which despite us using correct HTS codes, and Japan tariffs being 15%, can be up to 40% ). As we charge customers for shipping at checkout, these extra costs are not something that can be charged to the customer. We just have to look at overall margins and increase prices to match as time goes on. You could not make this stuff up.
