Powerlink - Jump Start System

Table of Contents

Basic Jump Start System – This is a system with safety and convenience in mind, for jump starting motorcycles up to 1300cc.

The PowerLink battery side cable is wired directly to the battery, providing an easy access point for jump starts, or high power accessories. The battery side cable is normally specified such that the PowerLink connector is accessible under the riders seat, for ease of access, negating any need to remove fairing panels. The PowerLink system also eliminates the possibility of shorting the battery when jump starting.

Just plug in the PowerLink Jumper Leads and you can jump start from bike to bike to get going again.  When jump starting from a car or larger vehicle, we recommend that the car or vehicle is not running, to avoid large current surges. You carry the jumper leads on the bike, leaving the battery lead in place with the cap. Many others options can plug into the Battery Leads – aux fuse panels, special high current horns, sockets, and other devices. Made in Japan. Compact sized.

To configure your system, select a battery lead size, Jumper Leads size or Buddy Cable or Splitter & add to the kart.

PowerLink Standard Kit

Price range: $50.00 through $61.00

Powerlink System Add-Ons: Because you’re only jump starting bikes in emergencies, the Powerlink connection to battery can be used to power all kinds of things on the bike. If you need to jump start, unplug the main connector from the battery leads and plug in the Jumper Leads. In fact when jump starting it’s best to turn off or disconnect all accessories for maximum available battery power. The Powerlink connection can include a fuse panel on one side of the splitter, and still have capacity for a high power socket on the other side of the splitter. You can also charge through the Powerlink or splitter. You could power a high power horn on one side, your fusepanel on the other side. There’s all kinds of possibilities with the Powerlink System.

We now have a Powerlink option for all our fuse box kits. This allows you to disconnect all accessories at one point, when jump starting ( maximum power to starter motor ). Splitter can be added for high power horns, or tire pump connection.

Disclaimer – this system is not designed for cars or engines over 1300cc with high starter current requirements. It is designed for motorcycles and other small vehicles. Please exercise caution when jump starting. Never overheat the cables. Keep start attempts to 15s or less, with 2 minutes between start attempts. We build this system from the highest quality components using excellent crimping and assembly. All wire and sheathing are high temp type.

NOTE: In rare occasions a battery may short internally. This will cause very high current in the PowerLink cables ( or any jumper cables ).
In such situations, the battery & cables will get hot quickly. It is best to replace the battery as it will only destroy the stator/rectifier.
