Triumph Daytona 675 Rectifier Bracket -[Version 2 SH847]
Price range: $26.95 through $223.00
Description
This bracket is for mounting an SH847 rectifier under the tail of the Daytona 675.
It mounts to the left side sub-frame between the passenger rear set and the sub-frame.
The SH847 is physically bigger than the OEM FH020AA type rectifier and to clear
the exhaust, we move the rectifier 20mm to the left of the bike. This rectifier might
be overkill for the 675 but some customers prefer it.
The OEM location for the standard rectifier is behind the engine, out of cooling air
and close to a heat source ( the engine ). Moving it to where it gets some air will
help with cooling and thus reliability. Replacing with a modern MOSFET rectifier
is another step up. Replacing with an SH847 ( series type rectifier ) is another step up
in terms of reliability. Series type rectifier, put less load on the stator, for any given
power, so can help with reducing stator failures.
OEM rectifier i shunt type which means it puts 100% load on the stator all the time. What is not used
by the motorcycle is shorted to ground.
MOSFET rectifiers are also shunt rectifiers, just they are more efficient, so fail less and don’t get as hot.
Series rectifier, put the smallest load on the stator. They open their inputs when there is reduced need for
power. So they load on the stator is the load needed by the bike, i.e. nothing dumped to ground.
